Followers, live viewers and clip views. Three ways to stop streaming into an empty room.
Followers work off-air, viewers work during the stream, clips work after it. The three do not cover the same moment.

Someone landing on your channel makes up their mind in seconds. They look at how many people are watching, then at the follower line. A channel with one viewer feels like a room you walked into too early, or far too late.
The viewer number sits next to your title in every browse list. It gets read before the title does.
The stream goes offline, the follower count does not. It is what an offline visitor lands on, and what another streamer checks before sending you a raid.
A clip outlives the stream it came from. Views on it give it a chance to be opened by someone still hesitating.
