How to Get More Views on YouTube in 2026
More YouTube views: thumbnail and CTR, watch time, suggested videos, SEO — plus an honest boost to get a video started.
YouTube doesn't push videos at random: it shows what people click on and watch all the way through. Here's how to get more views, from the thumbnail to the recommendations that actually drive volume.
Thumbnail and Title: Your Click-Through Rate
Most of the work happens before anyone even watches. A readable, high-contrast thumbnail with a clear emotion or a clear promise, and a title that pulls people in without lying to them. A strong click-through rate (CTR) tells YouTube one thing: people want this, show it to more of them.
Watch Time
YouTube favors videos that hold people. Hook them in the first seconds, get straight to the point, and structure the video so attention never drops. Total watch time counts for far more than the raw view number.
Suggested Videos
On a channel that is actually growing, most views come from suggested videos and the home feed. Getting in there takes signal: clicks, audience retention, and a solid start in the first few hours.
YouTube SEO
A title, a description and subtitles built around the right keywords help YouTube understand your video and put it in front of the right people. Do not skip that text: it is free visibility.
Giving It a Starting Push
A video that opens with a few views and some engagement sends a positive signal in its first few hours — the window that decides the most. A boost on your YouTube views can get that start moving, especially on a release that matters.
